LOUISIANA COLLEGE

Reni Mason will be the next basketball coach at Louisiana College. Mason will replace the retiring Gene Rushing, who played at LC and spent the past 41 years as a coach at his alma mater, including the last 29 as the Wildcats’ head coach. Mason played collegiately at both Louisiana Tech and the University of New Orleans, and he’ll bring an extensive resume to Pineville. He led Evangel to the LHSAA Top 28 twice, including a Class 2A runner-up finish in 2011, and prior to taking his first head coaching job with the Eagles he spent several years as a college assistant. – Bret H.
