Mike Nowell, an assistant men’s basketball coach at Seattle University for the 2014-15 season, died Monday night at Virginia Mason Medical Center. Nowell joined the coaching staff at Seattle U in August after coaching stints at Garfield High School and in local AAU basketball. He helped in the development of such local players as Tony Wroten Jr., Isiah Umipig and Tramaine Isabell, the 2014 4A Player of the Year from Garfield. – Seattle Times. Read More.
