The 11th-year Cougar coach announced Thursday the hiring of Lone Peak coach Quincy Lewis as a BYU assistant coach. Rose also announced that assistant coach Tim LaComb will be promoted to associate head coach, the position vacated by Mark Pope when he left to become Utah Valley University’s head coach. Lewis was Lone Peak’s coach for 12 years, leading the Knights to a 250-45 record, seven state championships, 10 region championships and a mythical national title in 2013.
