BENEDICTINE UNIVERSITY AT MESA

Steve Schafer has been named the head men’s basketball coach at Benedictine University at Mesa. Schafer has 14 years of coaching experience and has coached or recruited at least fifteen players that have received All-Conference recognition. Prior to Benedictine, Schafer served as the head coach at Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri from 2011-2014. While at Fontbonne he helped to turn around a struggling program by improving the overall team record each year in his three seasons as head coach.
