UAB’s search for its next athletic director has entered the interview phase. Birmingham-Southern athletic director Joe Dean Jr. is one candidate to interview for the permanent athletic director position, a source confirmed to AL.com. Dean Jr. has been the athletic director at BSC since 1999. A 19-person search committee, aided by Parker Executive Search, is conducting the search for the next athletic director.
