Avery Johnson, a former NBA player and coach, has agreed in principle to coach the Alabama men’s team, according to multiple reports. Sources said contract details are being finalized. Alabama athletic director Bill Battle did not return a call seeking comment. Johnson played in the NBA for 16 seasons, the first two with the Sonics.
