Former Wright State University athletes, coaches and fans, or anybody who appreciates the lessons learned from competing on a college sports team, can help members of the Raiders men’s and women’s swimming & diving team compete for the 2017-‘18 season. On May 19, the University announced cost-cutting measures that would eliminate the swimming and diving programs immediately. Besides the saving of budget dollars, Wright State was also concerned with the antiquated pool and the cost to maintain and/or replace such a facility. At the June 8 meeting of the Wright State University Board of Trustees, the members gave the directive to the Interim President Curtis McCray and the Director of Athletics Bob Grant to explore a plan for the swimming and diving teams to compete during the 2017-‘18 season. – fairborndailyherald.comRead More
