Vanderbilt University Athletic Director David Williams spoke to a group of local fans and dignitaries Tuesday at the Williamson County Public Library as part of the Vanderbilt University Office of Community, Neighborhood and Government Relations Office speakers’ series, and he was equally at ease sharing information and slinging one liners. Williams spoke early of the dependence of the NCAA on the “Power Five” conferences (SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Big Twelve, and the PAC 12) for fiscal soundness and more particularly the role of broadcast rights fees for March Madness. The AD smiled broadly when talking about the funds received from revenue sharing from the SEC, and coyly declined to share a figure.
