With years of planning and fundraising, UW-Green Bay will be opening its new outdoor athletic facility next spring. The $4.9 million Kress Family Outdoor Recreation Complex is well on its way to completion thanks to student fees and private donors, but there’s still some work to be done. The stadium will have a brand new grandstand, all-weather turf, upgraded technology and a new lighting system. The new field will also be NCAA compliant, which means it can host championship games, but UWGB’s athletic director said the new soccer facility isn’t just for the student athletes. – Brittany Schmidt, WBay.
