Gene Corrigan once left Virginia to become the athletic director at Notre Dame, and now the Irish could be returning the favor, one way or another. Two of the prospects being mentioned in connection with the athletic director’s opening at Virginia have Notre Dame ties, including Corrigan’s son, current Army athletic director Eugene “Boo” Corrigan. Also being mentioned prominently in recent days is University of Central Florida athletic director Danny White, no relation to the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback. This Danny White is a 2002 graduate of Notre Dame, where he was a walk-on basketball player. White previously had been the AD at Buffalo. Danny White’s father, Kevin, is the athletic director at Duke. Another of Kevin White’s sons, Mike, is head coach of the University of Florida men’s basketball team that dispatched UVa in last year’s NCAA tournament. A third White son, Brian, is an athletic administrator at Missouri. – Doug Doughty, roanoke.comRead More
