Missouri intends to hire Jim Sterk as its new athletic director, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Star on Monday. Sterk, 60, who has been at San Diego State since February 2010, succeeds Mack Rhoades, who resigned July 13 to become the athletic director at Baylor. With the Aztecs, Sterk has proven to be an adept fundraiser.
