A firm owned by the man for whom Old Dominion’s football stadium is named will be the construction manager when ODU designs a major overhaul to Foreman Field. ODU issued a brief press release on Thursday announcing that S.B. Ballard Construction of Virginia Beach will serve as construction manager when the Populous and Moselely architectural firms design a $55 million renovation of the 81-year-old stadium. According to the release, Ballard Construction will begin work with Populous and Moseley on Oct. 23. The stadium is officially known as Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium. Stephen Ballard, a Norfolk native, founded S.B. Ballard Construction 40 years ago in his hometown.
