Northeast Mississippi Community College has announced coach Kent Farris has been promoted to be the school’s new athletic director. Kent Farris has already cemented his legacy as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the Northeast Mississippi Community College baseball program. He also began a new role during the 2014 fall semester as Northeast’s assistant athletic director. Farris started his career as an assistant at North Alabama from 1983-84 and helped lead the Lions to the Gulf South Conference (GSC) title for the first time in school history in 1984. That team also finished second in the NCAA Division II South Central Region and featured five men that signed pro contracts.
