Fairfield University athletic director Gene Doris will be stepping down from his position, Hearst Connecticut Media had learned. Doris, 68, who has been at Fairfield since 1994, will remain with the university, reporting directly to new president Mark Nemec – who starts his new job on July 1 – while a national search to find his replacement gets underway. Once a new athletic director is hired, Doris will work as a special advisor for the new AD until the end of the year. The university is expected to make the official announcement today. – Chris Elsberry, CT PostRead More
