Two current athletic directors are out of the running for the same position at Auburn while at least one other and an alumnus are candidates, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. Virginia Tech athletic director Whit Babcock is not seeking the position and UConn athletic director David Benedict, who restructured his contract earlier this week, is also out of the mix, according to multiple sources. Auburn’s search includes at least Utah State athletic director John Hartwell, NFL chief information officer Michelle McKenna-Doyle, both of whom expressed their interest in the position to last month, and former Auburn kicker and chief operating officer at Arise Virtual Solutions Scott Etheridge. Both Babcock and Benedict previously worked at Auburn, whose search is being conducted with the assistance of Parker Executive Search and an advisory committee to president Steven Leath. – James Crepea, Read More
